ALL-ROUND SUSTAINABLE:
Life Science Hub Stücki Park

The Stücki Park area is designed with energy efficiency as a major focus. A large portion of its power is supplied by solar energy.

The area is designed for energy efficiency and is supplied with district heating and cooling. In conjunction with high quality insulation, this system makes the building a particularly environmentally friendly property with a very low CO2 footprint. The high standard of the construction materials, the architectural integration and the indoor air quality, are additional sustainability strengths of Stücki Park.

Fern and ivy instead of cement – the green façade in the Stücki Park ensures a pleasant indoor climate:

Since 2012 plants have been climbing up the façade at Stücki Park at Hochbergerstrasse 70. Green façades are eye-catching trends and also have many practical advantages: they have a positive influence on the microclimate of the building, protect the façade from wear and tear and they offer a valuable habitat for animals.

FIVE ADVANTAGES WITH A GREEN FAÇADE:

Sun protection:
The dense green provides shade on hot days and ensures a pleasant indoor climate in an entirely natural way.

Heating cost savings:
In winter, evergreen plants have a slight insulating effect, allowing for a certain degree of thermal insulation.

Animal habitat:
A greener façade in an urban environment offers birds and insects an excellent habitat and promotes biodiversity.

Noise protection:
Well-placed greenery on façades absorbs and scatters sound, and this makes it capable of reducing noise pollution.

Natural air purifier:
Plants bind fine dust on their leaf surface, absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen.

Photovoltaic systems in Stücki Park provide for a large part of its energy requirement

The Life Science Hub Stücki Park uses electricity from renewable sources. Solar panels have been installed on the roofs of the buildings at Hochbergerstrasse 60 and 70.

The electricity produced all flows back into the in-house power grid, and it covers up to 70 % of the electricity requirement. The photovoltaic systems produce around 1,000 MWh per year – enough to supply 222 households of 4 persons with power for a whole year, or 8.8 million kilometres of driving with an electric car or 37.4 million kilometres with a Segway.

Die Vorteile von PV-Anlagen

Stromkosten senken
